Tom Marten, President
Tom graduated with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Dayton, Dayton, OH and became a Professional Engineer with the State of Indiana in February 1979.
Tom began his career with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Louisville, KY. He worked in all divisions of the Corps, gaining a strong foundation in Engineering and Construction.
In 1977, Tom began work at Paul I. Cripe as an Engineer. For three years, he completed the design, planning and implementation of civil engineering projects for both commercial and real estate development.
In February 1980, Tom became President and Chief Operating Officer of Aztec Construction Management, Inc. This company served clients of Paul I. Cripe, taking on many projects, both large and small. Aztec’s clientele ranged from large pharmaceutical companies and hospitals to churches, industrial, commercial, and retail site developers, as well as residential work. Aztec Associates and Aztec Development were also formed while Tom headed Aztec Construction Management, Inc.
In 1992, Aztec Construction Management, Inc was purchased by Tom and Marten Construction Management, Inc. was created, where Tom is President and Owner. Several small companies have spun off of Marten Construction Management, Inc. as the company continues to grow.
Tom Marten, Jr., Vice President
Tom joined Marten Construction Management, Inc. in July of 2007 as a Project Manager.
Tom graduated from the University of Dayton in 2003 with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Biology. Upon graduation, he obtained a position in Operations Management for Triple Crown, Inc. After deciding to begin a career in the construction industry, he joined the Project Management department of Pulte Homes of Ohio. As Tom grew in his career, he obtained a position in Project Management at Bryden Construction. He then moved on to Ohio Interiors as a Project Manager. Currently, Tom is responsible for keeping Marten Construction Management, Inc.’s many projects on time and within budget.
